Job Summary
The Medication Refill position will receive, review, and approve medication refill requests in accordance with the current protocols.UIse of the EMR to review patients’ charts, investigate the status of medication refills, and ensure accuracy in documenting medication refills within the patient’s medical record.

Essential Functions
- Review incoming prescription refill requests for each designated provider.
- Determine if prescription refill request meets parameters as outline on Refill Policy and Procedure and address refill accordingly, i.e., refill the medication or task provider to refill.
- Track successful refill numbers and report numbers to Nursing Manager and/or Supervisor weekly
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
- Record patients' medical information.
- Consult and coordinate with patients’ primary care provider if needed for additional assessments, plans, implementations of patient care plans.
- Report to work as scheduled and on time and keep supervisor informed as to changes in work schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities |

Education: | Medical Assistant Certificate (or Certification) Licensed Vocational Nurse graduate from an accredited LVN school Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited nursing school.

Experience: | Experience in an Acute Care Hospital, Skilled Nursing Facility or Ambulatory setting. |
Computer Skills: | Experience in Microsoft Windows environment preferred. Ability to competently utilize EMR to complete daily tasks. |
Certifications & Licenses: | Maintain current California state RN or LVN license.

Other Requirements: | Medical Assistant Certificate (or Certification) LVN or RN license in good standing with the CA BRN. |
