Description

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for providing Ultrasound examinations on requested patients, recording pertinent clinical information regarding patient findings and medical history.  The Ultrasound Technologist will complete all charge slips, and maintain relevant statistical information, as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide high quality Ultrasound examinations on patients under the supervision of a Radiologist.
• Provide patient education relative to requested procedure.
• Positions patient properly and uses correct instrumentation to ensure optimal examinations.
• Records pertinent information regarding patient medical history.
• Completes charge slips for ultrasound procedures with documentation of diagnosis code.
• Maintains relevant statistical information to ensure optimal Imaging services.
• Answers telephone inquiries from physicians and provides Radiologists preliminary report when requested.
• Is able to handle high volume of patient examinations, maintain efficiency, and accuracy on all requested procedures.
• Is able to independently obtain all necessary images that are consistent with patients history and physicians orders.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 years of experience
• High School diploma or GED required. Current RDMS credentials to include Abdomen, Pelvis, and OB/GYN Breast credentials or RDVT license a plus. CPR certification required.
