Description
Manages projects of assigned in-house renovation and new construction, or in conjunction with outside consultants in support of the department Director. Maintains projects within applicable codes, guidelines and regulatory requirements coordinating with state agencies, CDPH to obtain project approvals and licensing. Leads and seeks input at the user level to support planning efforts. Coordinates information to outside consultants or in-house to assist key decision factors to advance project development. Exercises superior project skills, and decision-making in planning or remodeling healthcare facilities. In conjunction with the department Director, sets the standard for quality, scheduling and projecting essential requirements and costs for all capital improvements for the healthcare system in compliance with all Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws & code standards. Follows through with on-site administration, problem solves at the district level, and ensures progress, and timely decision-making, while maintaining cost control. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in healthcare-related construction and/or design or equivalent combination of education and experience relating to construction or project management
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business or related field
Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years healthcare-related project or program management experience, ability to review, interpret and evaluate planning and design directly related to the requirements of California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
Preferred Experience: 5 - 7 years healthcare-related project or program management experience, ability to review, interpret and evaluate architectural planning and design renderings directly related to the requirements of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
