This is a 100% grant funded or externally funded position, for the duration as funding allows, and may be altered or eliminated contingent on program or alternative funding sources.
Palomar Health operates the hospital-based California Clinical Forensic Medical Training Center, also known as the CCFMTC. The CCFTMC (EM Program) ensures Medical Evidentiary Examinations or Forensic Medical Examinations are conducted in a standard and consistent manner throughout California for victims of child abuse or neglect, child sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, domestic violence, elder or dependent adult abuse, and abuse or assault perpetrated against persons with disabilities. The CCFMTC is responsible to develop and maintain standardized medical evidentiary exam forms, protocols, and training for qualified healthcare professionals performing medical evidentiary exams, including training for law enforcement, prosecutors, and court personnel on how to interpret findings of medical evidentiary exams.
Under the direction of the Director of Forensic Health and Trauma Recovery Center Services, the Training Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Learning Management System (LMS) for the California Clinical Forensic Medical Training Center (CCFMTC), supporting the website, and handling various program tasks related to training. This role involves managing multiple functions to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Learning Services. The coordinator will ensure that all logistical aspects of training are handled, including travel, lodging, and other arrangements for staff and training attendees, as well as ensuring that all training materials are prepared for registered participants. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for ensuring that speakers have all necessary training details to ensure timely attendance and participation.
Key responsibilities also include overseeing the collection of training attendance data, ensuring that this data aligns with funding formulas, and reporting attendance and financial details to the CCFMTC Director. The role requires an exceptional ability to anticipate needs, prioritize tasks, and adapt to the program's dynamic needs.
The Training Coordinator is responsible for answering and monitoring CCFMTC emails, ensuring that important emails are forwarded to the CCFMTC leadership; and they understand the importance of not responding to inquiries outside of the Training Coordinator's scope of work or experience. The coordinator will also handle data entry, maintain inventory of supplies, order clinical materials, and support staff schedules and appointments.
The coordinator is responsible for preparing, formatting, proofreading, revising, distributing, and filing documents, forms, procedures, and training materials. They will ensure the accurate management of department files, update and maintain the department calendar, and track major meetings, deadlines, and staff schedules. The role also involves coordinating with other departments, assisting with outreach activities, and supporting department programs such as Pathways and Camp Hope America. Furthermore, the coordinator will ensure compliance with accreditation and grant requirements and provide support for cross-departmental initiatives and tasks.
Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
