Here’s what you’ll deliver:
- Identify opportunities to improve department processes and productivity
- Recruit, hire and train qualified office staff
- Evaluate staff performance through probationary and annual reviews
- Record, schedule, and manage staff vacation
- Train, supervise, monitor productivity and quality of accounting staff. (Control correspondences)
- Attend meetings where introduce / delegate new policies, procedures
- Download monthly floor plan statements and post monthly new & used interest, interest, and curtailments
- Complete monthly floor plan reconciliation
- Complete Monthly Financial Statements, including stats, submissions to Manufacturers, and annual changes to statements
- Reconcile schedules of holdback, gas, interest programs, MFG programs, COOP. Collaborate with Managers to collect all.
- Download all rebate schedules and reconcile monthly. Follow up with General Managers/managers to get all collected.
- Complete breakdown and explanation of expenses for General Managers/Managers, i.e. for Finex
- Review of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, flagged new accounts and accounting schedules, and follow up on errors with accounting managers
- Process wire transfers as needed
- Process cheque stop payments when required
- Complete Monthly Bank reconciliation
- Process visa reconciliations, which includes managing and reviewing gas expenses, and identifying irregularities in expenses
- Process remittances for Luxury Tax, PST and HST and audits
- Recurring Entries, review of prepaids and accruals and other schedules
- Methodically calculate depreciation of fixed assets
- Other duties as required by management
What do you need to succeed?
- University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of Automotive Dealer Accounting experience
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable experience
- Experience with Google Suite, CDK, CT Wizard, & 180 Dealer software considered an asset.
- Ability to navigate and utilize computers at an advanced level, including the ability to operate spreadsheet, word processing and PDF editing programs, as well as email.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a timely manner
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
- Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Trustworthy, respectful and able to demonstrate strong work ethics.
- Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills for effective communication with the team and management.
- Good planning and organization skills to balance and prioritize workloads.
