Performance Auto Group is currently seeking a Deal Department Team Lead to join their Accounting team in Brampton. The successful candidate will be a key team player in the Accounting Deal Department. They are responsible for assisting the Regional Office Manager with ensuring that the Deal Administration team is accurately posting new and used vehicle deals for assigned dealerships. They will also assist in strategic and team coordinating duties as required. Ability to display exemplary leadership, work well under pressure, and strong computer skills are essential for this role.

Here’s what you’ll deliver:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead the Accounting Deal Department to meet deadlines and ensure accurate deal postings for assigned dealerships.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with staff to discuss workload, capacity, and support needs, ensuring all team members are on track to meet deadlines.
  • Foster effective communication within the team, emphasizing the importance and impact of their roles on the company’s success.
  • Implement cross-training programs to enable all team members to post deals for any dealership within the group and develop proficiency in posting deals for all dealerships. 
  • Maintain strong Team development
  • Ensure the team performs monthly inventory adjustments, aftermarket reconciliations and Used Car audits.
  • Complete & adhere to Leadership training and development (AYL) courses provided

Payroll and Employee Setup:

  • Ensure payroll submission is completed accurately and submitted on the required deadline.
  • Setup of new Sales Consultants and Financial Services Managers in One Eighty, CDK and on the dealerships’ Google sheets.

Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:

  • On a monthly basis, verify that the number of deals sold matches the financial statement entries.
  • Ensure account numbers and journal postings are accurate and correct.
  • Investigate journal report discrepancies in gross figures.
  • Confirm OMVIC statutory count aligns with the month’s deal volume.
  • Conduct bank and extended warranty reconciliations.
  • Review deal schedules on a monthly basis and reconcile relevant schedules as needed.
  • Handle Demo Reporting to TD Bank.
  • Check and submit monthly bonuses.
  • Post, reconcile, and analyze various vehicle deals (retail, wholesale, fleet, and dealer trade).
  • Prepare warranty remittances.
  • Post and reconcile TD/HCFI EFT payments for payouts.
  • Notify General Managers via email about large Gross Profit adjustments 

Other duties:

  • Reconcile after-market purchases as needed.
  • Follow-up and review of Rebates
  • Conduct inventory adjustments as needed.
  • Process extended warranty payments as per OMVIC standards.
  • Process and auto-post all aftermarket products sold.
  • Follow up with FSM’s to register all Aftermarket products to ensure customers have all the products they purchased registered.  Both in Google & Unifi
  • Manage One Eighty Model additions.
  • Assist with One Eighty programming.
  • Oversee used car audit uploads and follow-ups.
  • Keep an inventory of deal files and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Liaise between dealerships and accounting for deal adjustments.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied transactions, providing guidance to dealers.
  • Manage vehicle chattel payment postings.
  • Demonstrate utmost professionalism in the performance of duties. 
  • Work in strict compliance with the Laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada including, but not limited to, the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Accessibilities for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Comply with all company policies, standards and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management. 

What do you need to succeed?

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of Automotive Dealer Accounting experience is considered an asset.
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable experience preferred.
  • Experience with CDK, CT Wizard, & 180 Dealer software considered an asset. 
  • Ability to navigate and utilize computers at an advanced level, including the ability to operate spreadsheets, word documents and PDF editing programs, as well as email and Google documents.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Trustworthy, respectful and able to demonstrate strong work ethics.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision.

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Compensation (expected annual salary): $60,000 - $70,000 per year. The starting salary will be set within this range based on job-related factors such as relevant skills and experience.
