Performance Auto Group is looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our corporate accounting team. 

Due to our unique centralized operating structure, the successful applicant will be onboarded with a title of Regional Office Manager. The responsibilities for this position align closely with those of an Assistant Controller.

Here’s what you’ll deliver

Process Optimization: 

  • Analyze departmental workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity.

Team Management:  

  • Be an active contributor in managing and supporting staff, including but not limited to, recruitment initiatives, training, supervision and performance evaluations (probationary and annual reviews), as well as time-off management.

Financial Reporting & Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile monthly floor plan statements, including posting new and used interest and curtailments.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, incorporating statistical data, manufacturer submissions, and necessary annual updates.
  • Reconcile manufacturer receivables (holdback, gas, interest programs, rebates, COOP) and collaborate with managers for timely collections.
  • Provide detailed expense breakdowns and explanations as requested.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Manage and reconcile visa expenses, identifying and resolving any irregularities.
  • Process remittances for Luxury Tax, PST, and HST, and handle audits.

Financial Operations:

  • Manage daily banking requirements, including processing wire transfers, stop payments, EFTs, and e-transfers.
  • Manage recurring entries and review prepaids, accruals, and other related schedules.
  • Calculate fixed asset depreciation.

Other: 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to the above-mentioned responsibilities.

What do you need to succeed?

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 years of Automotive Dealership Accounting Management experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller is an asset.
  • Accounting designation would be considered an asset.
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable experience.
  • Experience with Google Suite, CDK, CT Wizard, & 180 Dealer software considered an asset. 
  • Ability to navigate and utilize computers at an advanced level, including the ability to operate spreadsheets, word processing and PDF editing programs
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and manage recurring deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Trustworthy, respectful and able to demonstrate strong work ethics.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing support and training to a large team of subordinates.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective communication with the team and management.
