The successful Process Engineer will be a member of the Operations Team and will be responsible for providing technical and project support to Manufacturing, Facilities Engineering, Product Development, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs. This position is intended to participate in efforts on large and small projects to support introduction of new technology and existing operations. This position also may act as project manager, and participate in validation, automation, and aseptic operations. Knowledge of cGMPs and experience with GMP manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/ or participate in new technology projects to optimize and scale-up manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and/ or participate in technology transfer within the company and to partners.
  • Lead and/ or participate in capital projects
  • Lead and/ or participate in cross functional teams dedicated to process improvement, efficiency, and optimization.
  • Provide technical assessments for investigations, validation, and change control.
  • Generate and revise control documents to support process equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and/ or participate in the design and oversee the fabrication and testing of new process equipment
  • Lead and/ or participate in the start-up, commissioning, and qualification of new process equipment
  • Collect and analyze data related to development of new and existing processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant cGMP and/or technical experience (5-8 years preferred)
  • BS degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical Preferred)
  • Experience with sanitary process equipment design preferred
  • Ability to read P&IDs and engineering drawings
  • Experience with CIP & SIP preferred
  • Experience with operation of pilot or commercial scale pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical process equipment (aseptic bulk process and fill experience preferred)
  • Experience authoring and executing commissioning and qualification protocols preferred
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as an integral contributor toward achievement of project and company goals
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation
  • Excellent and consistent organizational skills
  • Must have proficient oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work and comply with cGMP requirements
  • Good observation skills and problem-solving ability
  • Team Player attitude: The willingness to work with peers towards company and department goals with dedication and willingness to do what is necessary to get the job done well and on time
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
