Summary:  
Under general supervision, this position is to perform GMP level calibrations and help maintain the calibration database.  Problem solving and basic technical troubleshooting are required. This position ensures that calibration services are being provided to various departments in a timely manner while minimizing impact on user operations.      
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned:  
  • Perform scheduled and emergency instrument and system calibrations in a timely manner.
  • Timely completion of tasks with appropriate documentation according to standard operating procedures, applicable standards, guidelines, practices, and policies.
  • Update the calibration management database to keep equipment status and recall data current.
  • Communicate with the internal customer base for the purpose of scheduling and executing work and updating them on the outcome.
  • Assist in the coordination and/or oversight of outside contractors providing calibration services.
  • Ensure calibration contractors have current training on procedures they perform.
  • Review calibration certificates performed by outside vendors and contractors.
  • Help manage equipment sent to vendors for calibration/repair.
  • Generate calibration documentation, including certificates and out of tolerance notifications.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Pacira’s Quality Management System per applicable standards, guidelines, practices, and policies.
Interaction:     
This position works closely with all members of the Facilities and Engineering Departments.  This position interacts with a broad base of individuals and personalities both within and external to the Pacira organization.      
 
Qualifications, Education and Experience:  
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years experience calibration or instrument technician experience required
  • Completion of an Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics (2-year) curriculum at a technical school preferred
  • AA/AS degree in a related science or engineering major preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  
The selected candidate shall possess the following fundamental skills:  
  • Basic knowledge of metrology principles
  • Basic knowledge and application of algebra, statistics, and elementary physics
  • Basic knowledge of temperature, pressure, electrical, flow, physical dimensional, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of cGMP
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, engineering documents and schematics
  • Proficiency in using MS Office
  • An ability to interact with a broad range of personalities and situations
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills

The base pay range for this role in California is $26.15 to $35.96 per hour. This role is classified as non-exempt and eligible for over-time.   
 
The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
