The purpose of the position is to supervise the daily operations, maintenance and repair of the facility systems, be actively involved in modifications to manufacturing and building support systems, supervise the performance of system checks, and maintain validated systems in a state of control 


  • Supervise the maintenance of the operating status of the facilities to provide maximum “up time” of all facilities systems.
  • Respond to and addresses planned and unplanned system outages to maintain maximum “up time” of critical systems.
  • Actively participate in the evaluation and corrective action plans for facility system repairs, replacements and modifications.
  • Prioritize the daily duties of the Facilities Maintenance Technicians in support of the Operating Goals and Objectives.
  • Supervise, Coordinate and oversee activities of some or specific outside contractors providing services to the facilities. i.e.: Grounds, Security, Cleaning, Mechanical support.
  • Review Maintenance work orders and prioritize completion in a timely manner.
  • Prepare the Facilities for a successful FDA (Pre-) Approval inspection.
  • Supervise and Oversee daily Facilities Maintenance operations.
  • Assure completion of maintenance work orders in a timely manner

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all facilities employees and oversees all facilities maintenance.


  • The incumbent works closely with all plant operations, engineering, and facilities. Also, interacts with all inter-departmental staff and vendors.


  • Five (5) plus years of on the job experience equivalent to an Associate Degree in a technical field with a focus on systems maintenance or Associate Degree in a technical field.
  • Two (2) plus years experience as a Facilities Maintenance Lead Technician.
  • Complete knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures for equipment such as: boilers, chillers, air handlers, HVAC direct expansion systems, cooling towers, pure steam generators, Water For Injection stills, Water For Injection pumps, autoclaves, heat exchangers, security systems, electrical distribution systems, fire protection systems, clean-in-place systems, classified air systems, ice storage systems, RO-DI systems, emergency generators, fume exhaust systems, etc.
  • Familiarity with common pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, such as liquid filling machines, stoppering machine, capping machines, vial washers, dehydrogenation ovens, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Ability to work both independently and team oriented.
  • Current training in cGMP for pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
  • Current training in aseptic gowning techniques
