Summary:

The purpose of this position is to support the accounting team across a variety of legal entities and areas, including but not limited to: month-end book closes; revenue accounting, investment activities; debt and notes payables, leases; general accruals; prepare monthly profit review reporting package; and quarterly analytics within areas of responsibility.  This position should also analyze the process behind all essential duties & responsibilities listed below to make suggestions on how these processes can be improved and be completed more efficiently.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Support the month-end process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for the following areas: equity investments, convertible debt/interest, notes receivable/payable, goodwill, accruals, leases, rent expense allocations, and other general accounting areas to ensure accuracy of internal and external financial reporting.
  2. Prepare the monthly profit review reporting package and prepare additional analysis as needed.
  3. Prepare entries to account for unusual/one-time transactions (i.e. equity investments), ensuring coordination with other departments
  4. Responsible for supporting the accounting activities for EXPAREL revenue and all related accounts including:
    1. Calculating EXPAREL revenue, including prompt pay discount, returns reserve, pricing discounts, chargebacks, GPO rebates and corresponding admin fees, Wholesaler admin fees, accounts receivable and cash applied
    2. Calculating and reporting Quarterly Non-FAMP for reporting to the VA and the Annual Federal Ceiling Price and related OGA price for other government agencies. The rules and regulations of selling to the VA require special training and knowledge which may require support from outside legal counsel
    3. Calculating and executing quarterly royalties payable
    4. Calculating and reporting GPO sales and administrative expenses
  5. Support the Medicaid, Medicare and 340b monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions to the appropriate government agencies as needed
  6. Support special projects within the general accounting and revenue accounting areas as needed
  7. Assist with quarterly and annual SEC financial reporting activities including:
    1. Prepare supporting workpapers for SEC filings and footnotes
    2. Assist in fulfilling audit requests (internal and external)
    3. Prepare related balance sheet and P&L analytics
  8. Compliance with internal control policies and processes
  9. Provide all supporting documents as it relates to areas of responsibility in order to support the annual audit and SOX 404 compliance process
  10. Ensure effective communication between accounting and all internal/external customers.
  11. Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriate.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No staff supervisory responsibilities. 

 

Interaction:

The incumbent works closely with entire accounting/finance team, auditors, vendors and consultants.

 

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant General/ Revenue Accounting experience.
  • Proficient level experience with Excel, and Power Point. 
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting from accredited college or university required.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, publicly traded, corporate environment managing multiple tasks/projects.
  • CPA preferred
