The purpose of this position is to represent Pacira to key Government entities. Primary function is to communicate value and gain access for sales and medical affairs teams within DOD/VA and other governmental agencies.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Director of National and Strategic Accounts will represent Pacira's interests and build and manage relationships of high level influencers with the VA/DOD
  • Focus of position is utilizing relationships and intimate understanding of the assigned organizations to communicate value and improve access for all Pacira personnel. Paramount to success is identifying opportunities and obtaining resources needed toward the education of such customers and fostering consistent information dissemination throughout these organizations as well as Pacira.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, HOVA and Medical Affairs to create business plans for product access, and sales and clinical support.
  • Develop contract impact models and negotiate agreements on behalf of Company with key organizations and work closely with Finance to do so.
  • Build collaborative relationships internally with sales, marketing, HOVA, medical affairs, finance, legal, regulatory, quality assurance and manufacturing departments.
  • Continuously monitor industry competition and consolidation amongst key industry hospital systems and chains, distribution, trade and payer organizations and assesses impact on products.
  • Continuously maintains a compliant environment.

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Political Science, Health Policy, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university. PharmD, MBA, MPH or JD from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including management government relationships.
