The Accountant Manager will be responsible for the accounting, reporting, planning & forecasting and ad hoc analysis for the Engineering, Facilities, and other departments as assigned.   Reporting and analysis will provide management with timely, accurate and relevant financial information and insights.  This position is also responsible for accounting, reporting, planning & forecasting and ad hoc analysis for Capital Expenditures including the Fixed Asset monthly close activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Close and Reporting
    • Prepare monthly accruals by department and review with managers
    • Prepare prepaid, accrual and other account reconciliations
    • Prepare, communicate and present financial results including general account analysis, reconciliation, variance explanation, Key Performance Indicators with explanation of business drivers
    • Interact with external and internal auditors, prepare and provide documents for annual audit and SOX reviews
    • Ensure effective communication between accounting and all internal/external customers
  • Planning and Forecasting
    • Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the Engineering, Facilities and Quality departments
    • Document and understand assumptions, risks and opportunities
    • Prepare documentation, including presentations, trend and variance analysis
    • Review headcount requisitions for alignment with budget and business justifications
    • Timely review purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy of coding and consistency with budget
    • Provide insight on cost savings activities and initiate cost reductions initiatives
  • Capital planning for the company and the accounting for Fixed Assets
    • Enter in new assets, disposals and adjustments into Fixed Asset system
    • Record month-end fixed asset related entries
    • Prepare fixed asset inventory reconciliation
    • Ensure proper documentation and support is maintained
    • Prepare analysis of actual versus budgeted spending
  • Review contracts to confirm coding, budgeted amounts and whether amounts are reasonable. Provide insight on cost savings activities and project lead cost reductions
  • Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriate 

Interaction:

The incumbent works closely with entire accounting/finance team, operations, customers, vendors and consultants.  

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant Accounting/Finance experience
  • BS degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in general accounting principles and preparing and implementing accounting policies, systems and procedures.
  • General knowledge of GAAP and an understanding of internal accounting controls.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment with multi-project and multi-product manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated skills in Excel and PowerPoint to support analysis and presentations
