Summary: 
The Sr. Director, Commercial Operations be responsible for providing the link to connect Product & Customer Strategy, Analytics, and Operational needs into pull through via Operational Excellence know how in order to support an expanding portfolio of proBI, etc.), combined with a track record of project management experience to provide solutions to streamline Commercial administration and execution support across the Marketing and Sales platforms. The role will create and manage project plans and manage day to day interactions with internal Commercial customers, Commercial Analytics & Customer Strategy team members. This position will play an integral role as the primary lead for oversight of Marketing and Field Operational support; as well as various subcontractors to gather requirements, design solutions, implement and maintain the various solutions at maximum efficiency & effectiveness. The incumbent will be expected to deliver within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost, as well as complete Automation solutions across functional teams.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Lead Development of Sales Operations inclusive of resourcing, system utility, and end-user applicability to ensure key reporting dynamics & metrics are in place for  internal & external users
  • Responsible for building strategic plans and project plans to drive requirements gathering and analysis in order to provide high quality and detailed business requirements that ensure alignment with Commercial end-user needs
  • Responsible for overseeing implementation of Veeva CRM business requirements and other parallel or downstream tools or reporting environments; as well as to document, manage and implement system change requests via internal resources
  • Oversee and support the Sales Operations administrative and project management functions encompassing the build out and streamlining of Field Sample management and or Fuel Card maintenance
  • Plays strategic and integral role in support of Marketing and Field Sales conferences, oversight of sales force alignments & execution.
  • Function as team and organizational expert in Commercial Operations inclusive of CRM, BI, and  Sales Force operations to take complex concepts and articulate them to audiences of varying perception level via two-way interpretation
  • Plan and establish after go-live activities and ongoing support, including develop and deliver training and support programs for all user groups; Maintain Veeva and BI system certifications and knowledge
  • Manage internal and external resources engaged in the development and support of Commercial Operations activities and systems to ensure prioritization with overarching Commercial and Business Strategies
  • Maintain industry & application delivery knowledge, objectively understand and evaluate the capabilities of tools and technologies relative to internal needs to recommend potential solutions to close critical gaps
 
Supervisory Responsibilities: 
This position will have direct reports.
 
Interaction: 
The incumbent will work closely with Marketing, Sales, HSA, MA, CCO, Medical, Finance, Trade Operations, Commercial Analytics, and other functions. 
 
Education and Experience:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, operations or other related fields from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree is a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical or related industry with business operations, analytics, field operations, and / or consulting
  • Experience in the hospital segment and with surgical based products is a plus
  • Prior experience and knowledge of CRM and Business Intelligence application tools and support

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Solid conceptual thinking – ability to analyze large amounts of information, extract insights, and prepare project plans to provide strategic solutions
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork needed to partner with peers on interdepartmental initiatives
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects / priorities including ability to work with complex plans and design solutions to address critical needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT processes including User Requirements gathering, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management
  • Must be able to take complex (including technical) concepts and articulate them to audiences of varying perception levels
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for user interface design consistent with device constraints
  • Experience with managing various project management initiatives across a Commercial Operations platform, requiring knowledge of business reporting enhancements, data management processes, and/or marketing / sales operational process design and execution
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
  • Demonstrated development understanding in SFDC, Veeva, or other CRM systems; SFDC and Veeva Certified Administrator considered a plus
  • Prior experience managing large scale Commercial, Sales, or Trade / Contracting operations projects and outputs (Preferred)

The base pay range for this role in San Francisco, California is $209,000 per year to $270,000 per year. The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
