Image Camera Simulator Engineer

Description

As the Software Engineer in the Office of the CTO at OmniVision (OVT), you will develop camera simulator package based on OVT’s camera simulator platform and execute image sensor / camera system simulations.  It will be used for internal image sensor performance estimation and product evaluations by customers.                                                   
Responsibilities
  • Develop imaging systems simulator in python or C/C++ to understand and predict camera performance parameters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to define the simulator specifications, collect the necessary data and develop simulation applications.
  • Calibrate simulations with the measured data..
  • Execute the simulation and summarize the result along with theoretical / qualitative explanation.
  • Present data to engineering and senior management and make recommendations on the development direction.
  • Create distribution packages for key customers.
Requirements 
  • BSEE or MSEE in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of software development experience required.
  • Good understanding of imaging technologies and key camera components including sensors, image signal processing, optics.
  • Knowledge of design, fabrication, and application of CMOS image sensors.
  • Good understanding of image processing pipeline and performance characteristics.
  • Basic knowledge on image quality measurement methodology and parameters.
  • Good understanding of statistical modeling and spatial transformations.
  • Excellent coding skills and habits required.
  • Knowledge of Matlab, C/C++ and Python required.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux development environments.
  • Familiar with commonly accepted coding convention and standards.
  • Experience with collaborative coding environment and comfortable with using revision controls systems, e.g. git or jira.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong organization skills desired.
  • Good interpersonal skills desired.
Annual base salary for this role in California, US is expected to be between  $95,000 - $135,000. Actual pay will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant skills and experience, and the pay of employees in the similar role.
