Product Validation Engineer

OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGIES Santa Clara, California

Description

Job Duties:

  • Perform wafer level characterization of CMOS imaging sensors for mobile, automotive and security applications.
  • Define characterization test flow to measure various performance parameters for image sensors.
  • Determine root cause of process- or design-related problems; Analyze wafer level data and perform root cause analysis for issues, and do design of experiments (DOE) to narrow down root cause of issue.
  • Analyze and debug initial silicon, validate design features, define test algorithms to target specific fail mechanisms and prepare detailed descriptions for tests required during design validation cycle.
  • Validate automated silicon verification with bench testing and measurements; Validate ATE (Automated Test Equipment) data by bench testing characterization tests and taking pseudo condition measurements on the bench.
  • Correlate test results generated in Color Probe; Explain rational of test in probe and determine most effective method to implement test and avoid potential overkill.
  • Develop automation scripts in Perl/Python to enable data manipulation and speed up data analysis and reporting.
  • Characterize CMOS imaging sensors by validating and analyzing the layout, timing, charge accumulation, noise, Photon Transfer Curves and Signal Noise Ratio at wafer level and die level.
  • Determine effectiveness of silicon-level manufacturing techniques and design limitations by performing statistical analysis (probability charts, Wafer maps, Scatter plots, Outlier image characterization) on data to determine best possible approach.
  • Conducted comprehensive unit testing and integration testing on existing and new algorithms, ensuring they met design specifications and functional requirements.
  • Correlated data from different algorithms versions and packages to establish uniformity across tools.
  • Developed a Windows application for processing CSV files with user selectable data, allowing for data encoding/decoding used across Product Engineering Teams.
  • Engineered a Python script to seamlessly merge data from multiple files, employing keyword matching and conditional logic.
  • Created thorough algorithm and test procedure documentation for test engineers and delivered presentations to management.
  • Provided training and documentation to help transition to new version control system [GitLab] and held training sessions for the team.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with course work in Digital VLSI Design, Digital Circuits, Computer Architecture, Design of Experiment.
