Licensed Genetic Counselor - Program Coordination

Functions as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the medical specialty of genetics with additional clinic, administrative, and/or research responsibilities. Support program development and growth of a comprehensive, high quality genetic counseling program. Provide pre- and post- testing support for genetic testing. Collect appropriate clinical and family information from clients necessary for scheduling of appropriate tests, proper interpretation of tests results and preparation of final reports. Serves as a consultant to facility and non-facility physicians, genetic counselors, and geneticists regarding highly specialized genetic testing and follow-up. Serves as a liaison between administration, laboratory and clinical staff. Help facilitate effective, efficient communication with clinical personnel to be able to deliver timely, appropriate care to our patients.

  • Education:  Minimum of Master's Degree in genetic counseling from the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC) is required.

  • Professional Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Washington State Genetic Counseling License (GT) is required.  Board certification as a genetic counselor also required. 

  • Experience:  Minimum 3 years of experience as a genetic counselor required with five years of experience preferred.  Previous experience with genetic counseling program development is preferred.
