Teach Coalition, a project of the Orthodox Union, was founded in 2013 to solve the tuition crisis in nonpublic schools. The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

Position Summary

Teach Coalition is seeking a Director of Development Operations to oversee all fundraising operations and activities including the moves management process, grant applications, crowdfunding campaign, direct mail and multi-channel appeals, and donor communications. The Director will oversee the Development Assistant, Events Manager. The Director will report to the National Director of Engagement. 

Essential Functions

  • Establish best practices for the organization’s development operations
  • Oversee the moves management process and regularly monitor and evaluate progress of fundraisers
  • Work in partnership with the Communications team to develop compelling fundraising appeals, visually engaging letters, reports, and other fundraising materials
  • Prioritize donor cultivation and stewardship to ensure that donor prospects and existing annual donors receive frequent, meaningful information and opportunities to increase participation and retain donors
  • Establish annual fund strategies, timelines, and performance metrics with the goal of increasing support
  • Manage a team that includes the Development Assistant and Events Manager 

What You'll Bring to the Position

  • 5 - 10 years of professional fundraising operations experience with a track record of success
  • Excellent operations, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Energetic, self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable
  • Problem solver with a can-do attitude and ability to motivate others
  • Computer fluency in Office, donor database software, web applications, and knowledge about the role of technology and electronic communication in fundraising
  • Bachelor’s degree

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000.
