Who We Are:

Yachad, a division of The Orthodox Union, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish organization‚ supports individuals with intellectual, developmental, and learning disabilities. Yachad helps these individuals participate more fully in Jewish life and the broader society by providing educational, employment, and relationship opportunities.

The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Summary:

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for organizing and coordinating summer department operations and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency throughout the department.  This includes ongoing communication, working with office staff and interns, and maintaining office records. 

This position also serves as an assistant to the full-time staff in the summer department, providing a high level of support by helping to handle requests, calls, scheduling meetings and preparing correspondence.  The Administrative Coordinator must be organized and personable.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain operations and procedures
  • Fielding the primary summer phone line
  • Monitor and manage two significant email inboxes in addition to a personal inbox.
  • Provide customer service to all our families and staff.
  • Summer staff contract process
  • Liaise with other departments within the agency                                                                                        
  • Prepare documents and send out mass emails as needed.
  • Conduct oneself with professionalism and a strong sense of customer service

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Occasional late nights and traveling may be necessary
  • Attendance at one weekend conference per year is required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of Jewish Summer Camps

 

Salary & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $45,000- $55,000, commensurate with experience.
