NCSY, a program of the Orthodox Union, connects with Jewish teens through innovative, cutting-edge social and recreational programs to develop a positive Jewish identity. NCSY inspires Jewish teens through informal Jewish education, retreats, and summer programs. NCSY empowers teens through leadership development and guidance to become passionately committed leaders of the Jewish community and instruments for positive change and renewal.

 

The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, , is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Summary:

The 5 Towns Day School Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening NCSY’s presence and relationships throughout the Five Towns community. This position focuses on student engagement, school partnerships, recruitment, and programming across local day schools and institutions.

 

The ideal candidate is energetic, relationship-driven, organized, and passionate about connecting teens to meaningful Jewish experiences. This role requires both daytime school engagement and evening programming responsibilities throughout the week.

 

This position is a part-time position and works on a Hybrid schedule: 1 day per week in the office, the rest in the field, with flexibility based on organizational needs and events

 

Responsibilities:

Programming and Student Engagement

  • Run and coordinate NCSY programming in the Five Towns community twice weekly during evening hours
  • Engage students during the school day through classes, lunch and learns, meetings, and informal interactions
  • Help create meaningful and engaging programming experiences for teens
  • Build strong relationships with students across multiple schools and grade levels

 

School and Community Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local day schools, administrators, educators, and community institutions
  • Serve as a liaison between NCSY and Five Towns schools and organizations
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and expanded student engagement

 

Recruitment and Outreach

  • Recruit students for major NCSY events, Shabbatons, trips, and regional programs
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts within schools and the broader community
  • Maintain ongoing communication and follow up with students and families

 

Operations and Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Day School Director on strategy, programming, and school engagement initiatives
  • Assist with logistics and coordination for regional events and programs
  • Participate in team meetings and planning sessions as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with teens in educational or informal settings preferred
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Passion for Jewish education, teen engagement, and community building
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings

 

Salary:

The salary for this position is $45,000.
