POSITION SUMMARY 

The Vice President of Industry Relations position is responsible for the overall growth and implementation of newly contracted disease therapies via manufacturer contracts.  This position will develop, lead strategic and tactical planning to optimize new contractual relationships with manufacturers of rare and orphan biotech therapies.  The VP of Industry Relations will directly manage the strategy of the product pipeline while maintaining the relationship and contracts with manufacturers before transitioning the business to program management and trade. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & TRAINING
 

  • 10+ years of management experience in a handling complex customers and contract related negotiations with accountability for business results.
  • 8+ years of experience in contract negotiations with payer and / or pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • 8-10 years of progressively responsible Specialty Pharmacy account management and/or operations experience in the managed care industry, 5 years management experience, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Must have thorough understanding of account management principles/tools and pharmacy pricing.
  • Business, Clinical and Operational acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Preferred undergraduate degree in Business (Marketing, Finance, etc.), MBA Preferred.
  • Preferred 10+ years of Specialty Pharmacy or Biotech Manufacturer business development experience.
  • Preferred established network of specialty pharmacy consultants and biotech manufacturer relationships.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

  • Guide development of Manufacturer relationships through the sales process.
  • Manage biopharma targeting strategy and process.
  • Plan for and pitch to prospective biopharma customers/accounts.
  • Drive company growth via acquisition of new biopharma partnerships/contracts.
  • Collaborate with fellow leadership to design and execute on commercial strategy. 
  • Attend industry conferences as necessary, representing company services and offerings.
