Working within the Clinical Affairs portfolio, the successful candidate will design, deliver, and evaluate programs that directly influence clinician performance, patient safety, and system-wide quality outcomes.

Depending on experience, education, and demonstrated leadership capability, the role may be staffed at the Faculty Educator or Senior Faculty Educator level.

Key Accountabilities:

At both levels, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction across assigned programs, ensuring safe, effective, and engaging learning environments.
  • Design, update, and evaluate educational content using evidence-informed practices, simulation-based training, and adult learning principles.
  • Evaluate learner progression, course effectiveness, and program outcomes to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and quality improvement activities, including call reviews, clinical investigations, course evaluations, and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Analyze clinical and educational data (e.g., patient care metrics, learner performance, operational data) to identify trends and inform improvements.
  • Support certification and credentialing processes, including maintenance-of-certification requirements and QA audits aligned with Base Hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders and the Quality & Patient Safety team to align education, clinical standards, and quality priorities.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to evaluate current practices and integrate innovative, evidence-informed improvements into clinical and educational programs.

Additional Senior-Level Responsibilities (Level 6)

  • Candidates hired at the Senior Faculty Educator level will contribute at a more advanced leadership and strategic capacity, including:
  • Lead clinical performance reviews and investigations, synthesizing data from multiple sources to evaluate care delivery and identify system-level improvement opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate organization-wide quality improvement initiatives, including development of KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Translate complex clinical and operational data into actionable insights for clinical teams, leadership, and external partners.
  • Develop and advance clinical guidelines, medical directives, and evidence-informed practice resources.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to educators and clinical partners, supporting capability-building in quality improvement and clinical performance evaluation.
  • Contribute to system-level program design, evaluation frameworks, and strategic quality initiatives aligned with organizational and regulatory priorities.

Qualifications:

Required for both levels:

  • Professional education in a relevant clinical discipline (e.g., paramedicine, nursing, respiratory therapy).
  • Minimum 5 years of independent clinical practice experience.
  • Experience in adult education and learner assessment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical quality assurance, quality improvement methodologies, and patient safety principles.
  • Experience working with clinical or educational data to support decision-making is an asset.

Additional expectations for the Senior level:

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading quality improvement initiatives, clinical performance analysis, or healthcare data interpretation.
  • Experience with reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) strongly preferred.

Who Thrives in the role:

  • An educator who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through high-quality learning experiences and evidence-informed practice.
  • A clinician who is curious and analytical, using data, feedback, and clinical insight to continuously enhance education and care delivery.
  • A collaborative partner who builds strong relationships with clinical teams, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A problem-solver who is comfortable working in complex environments, contributing to investigations, performance reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • An adaptable professional who embraces innovation, integrating new approaches to education, quality improvement, and clinical practice.

  • A mentor who supports the development of others while advancing a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • A systems-level contributor who is comfortable leading initiatives, shaping frameworks, and driving sustainable improvements in patient care and program performance.
