The Quality Assurance Inspector, Maintenance plays a key role in upholding Ornge’s high standards of aviation safety and reliability. In this 12month contract role, you will execute and support Ornge’s Quality Assurance Program by ensuring ongoing compliance with Transport Canada regulatory requirements and internal maintenance quality standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborates with the Manager of Quality Assurance and the Ornge team in the establishment of procedures as required by the aviation regulations, contractual obligations, and stakeholder requirements in ensuring continuing compliance.
  • Conducts factual reviews for Technical Safety Reports submitted through the Safety Management Systems and findings from the Quality Assurance System.
  • Develops and amends technical manuals as required.
  • Conducts scheduled technical audits in accordance with the Transport Canada approved audit plan:
  • Regular reporting of internal audit statistical data and preparation of analysis reports identifying trends to be reviewed, investigated, and actioned.
  • Provides written reports addressing audit findings, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of corrective actions for effectiveness in preventing recurrences.
  • Provides Quality Control Inspection (QCI) functions in the tracking of projects and ensuring all quality compliance issues are addressed with regards to the regulatory conformance, original equipment manufacturer, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Advises and reports to the Quality Assurance Manager on regulatory compliance departures and deviations, non-conformances, incident/accident investigations, and stakeholder complaints.
  • Performs incident investigations:
  • Documents facts, conducts interviews, determines causal factors, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with a diploma in aviation maintenance is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.
  • 10 years of experience in aviation with 5 years in a Quality Assurance Inspector role is preferred.
  • Quality Assurance Inspector training (IATA/IOSA preferred).
  • AME license with M1 and/or M2 rating is preferred.
