Ornge is seeking a committed and forwardthinking Faculty Educator or Senior Faculty Educator to help shape the next generation of clinical excellence in transport medicine. This role plays a central part in ensuring our clinicians are supported with highquality education, evidenceinformed practice resources, and a culture of continuous professional development.

 

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, collaborative team responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating programs that directly influence patient outcomes across Ontario.

 

Depending on experience, education, and demonstrated leadership capability, the role may be staffed at the Faculty Educator or Senior Faculty Educator level.

 

Key Accountabilities:

At both levels, you will:

  • Deliver highquality instruction across assigned programs, ensuring safe, effective, and engaging learning environments.
  • Design, update, and evaluate educational content using best practices in adult learning, simulationbased training, and evidenceinformed pedagogy.
  • Support learner success by providing coaching, formative feedback, academic guidance, and participation in Student Success Plans.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and quality improvement activities, including call reviews, course evaluations, and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Support certification and credentialing processes, including summative evaluations and maintenanceofcertification requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders and internal partners to ensure education and practice standards remain aligned with regulatory requirements and organizational priorities.

 

Additional Senior-Level Responsibilities (Level 6)

Candidates hired at the Senior Faculty Educator level will contribute at a more advanced leadership and strategic capacity, including:

  • Leading clinical performance assessments and investigations, applying clinical expertise to evaluate care delivery and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Designing and implementing clinical quality improvement initiatives that strengthen patient safety, clinical consistency, and organizational readiness.
  • Developing clinical guidelines, medical directives, and practice resources in partnership with clinical leadership and subject matter experts.
  • Overseeing certification and maintenanceofcertification frameworks, ensuring clinicians meet required standards across multiple disciplines.
  • Providing mentorship and elevated support to educators, Clinical Practice Leaders, Paramedic Practice Mentors, and other clinical partners.
  • Contributing to systemlevel planning and program design, including academic innovation, evaluation frameworks, and integration of emerging best practices.

 

Qualifications:

Required for both levels:

  • Professional education and credentials in a relevant clinical discipline (e.g., Critical Care Paramedicine, Advanced Care Flight Paramedicine, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy).
  • A minimum of 5 years of independent clinical practice in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering adult education and supporting learner development.
  • Strong understanding of clinical practice standards, patient safety, and quality assurance fundamentals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

 

Additional expectations for the Senior level:

  • Advanced education – a minimum of a Master’s degree is required.
  • Proven experience in clinical leadership, quality improvement, or systemlevel education program development.
  • Experience leading investigations, analyzing clinical performance data, or contributing to evidenceinformed practice.
  • Strong capability to influence, mentor, and support peers and clinical leaders.
