Ornge is seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly organized Project Manager to support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of technology focused and business initiatives. In this role, you will lead the planning, execution, performance monitoring, and delivery of projects that strengthen and enhance the operational capabilities of Ontario’s critical care air ambulance and related services.

Reporting into a collaborative, missiondriven environment, the Project Manager will work closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while aligning with Ornge’s strategic objectives. Project portfolios may include service and program enhancements, healthcare partnerships, technologyenabled initiatives, infrastructure and facilities projects, and operational improvements.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage complexity across both IT focused and operational projects. You will thrive in a fastpaced environment, applying sound project management practices to deliver highquality outcomes that directly support Ornge’s commitment to patient safety, excellence, and compassionate care.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own end to end delivery of assigned projects in alignment with organizational strategy, priorities, and governance.
  • Lead internal and external stakeholder relationships throughout the project life cycle.
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities to enable collaboration and accountability across project teams.
  • Maintain oversight of project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality.
  • Ensure vendor deliverables align with contractual obligations and approved scope.
  • Promote effective communication, expectation management, and timely issue resolution.
  • Support Project Management Office (PMO) standards, reporting, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage delivery across multiple concurrent projects aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative project environment aligned with equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain project plans including scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Provide direction and leadership to project teams, including coaching and mentoring as required.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop project charters and clarify requirements.
  • Monitor project performance, forecasts, budgets, and cash flow; identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identify, assess, log, and manage project risks in alignment with the organizational risk framework.
  • Proactively identify issues, diagnose root causes, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and guide implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Engage vendors throughout the project life cycle to support effective vendor management.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, records, and audit artifacts, not limited to status updates, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Apply project management methodologies – Agile and Waterfall using standard tools.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates, and processes.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and support project related resources or recruitment activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field to support diversity of projects e.g. business and technology is required.
  • PMP Certification is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading, managing and coordinating projects is required.
  • Experience delivering a diverse range of strategic projects including operational changes, business process, facilities, and technology (application and infrastructure) projects is required.
  • Experience in Healthcare, with Aviation and Emergency Medical Services is considered an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of products e.g. Microsoft 365, Microsoft Project is required.
