System Administrator and Helpdesk

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT System Administrator and Helpdesk to oversee our Systems and helpdesk operations within the biotech sector. This candidate will report to the IT Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong IT management background, focusing on supporting biotech research and development environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management:
- Assist with routine maintenances and updates of IT systems.
- Support the implementation of new IT solutions and upgrades.
- Helpdesk Support:
- Provide first-level support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary.
- Develop and implement helpdesk policies and procedures to ensure high-quality service.
- Monitor helpdesk performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
- Helpdesk Operations:
- Manage helpdesk tickets using ORIC’s ticketing system.
- Maintain helpdesk documentation, including FAQ and user guides.
- Track and report helpdesk performance metrics.
- User Training and Support:
- Perform On-boarding/Off-boarding training.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users on new technologies and software applications.
- Support the implementation of new IT solutions and upgrades.
- Project Management:
- Support IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Collaborate with IT members and cross-functional teams to maintain service level agreement (SLA).
- Security and Compliance:
- Maintain IT security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
- Enforce compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as HIPAA and GDPR.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the biotech industry.
- Strong knowledge of IT Systems, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with biotech-specific software and systems.
- O365 Azure, Outlook, SharePoint , OneDrive, InTune, Box.com, Adobe Pro, Freshservices,
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in our San Diego location is between $90,000- $140,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
