About the Team

The IT Operations team is a multi-faceted, multi-functional team consisting of BIS (Business Information Systems), Helpdesk, Systems, Development, and Procurement squads.  The BIS squad is highly productive, close knit, and is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to propel the business and help our customers.  The BIS team is the glue that binds Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Support, Marketing, Exec, and Engineering to help find inventive solutions to help our business units.  The BIS team supports our underlying reporting and financial infrastructure.

 

About the Job

The Business Systems Analyst will work with stakeholders across a variety of different teams such as Finance, Product, Sales and Marketing to ensure data integrity, reliability and successful analytical operations. The Business System Analyst will also be responsible for requirements gathering, vendor management and successful delivery of business systems enhancements within multiple functional areas such as Finance, Customer Service, Operations, and Sales. Ultimately, the Business Systems Analyst will help O’Reilly thrive as a data driven company by improving business tools and increasing the reliability and usefulness of our data.


Job Details

The Business System Analyst will: 

  • Support Oracle EB
  • Engage with teams across multiple functional areas including Finance and Customer Service to understand their issues, explain, support and improve business systems;
  • Perform requirements gathering and research to understand the scope of the project and perform project scoping;
  • Works closely with developers and coordinate activities across the development lifecycle of internal business projects with a focus on data, reporting and analytics;
  • Work with end users to gather feedback;
  • Provide production analysis and support for data quality related questions and concerns for enterprise applications, including in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, research and resolution recommendations to ensure systems are reliable;
  • Perform, support and coordinate Systems Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and associated activities such as test plan, test cases and test execution;
  • Translate reporting requirements into effective and impactful dashboards and reports that enable reliable information sharing across the enterprise.
  • Write, maintain and document PLSQL scripts

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor degree in a STEM degree or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Experience with SQL and PLSQL
  • Experience with Oracle Applications such as Inventory, AR, Order Management, Payables, etc.)
  • Professional experience gathering and presenting requirements to business/non technical stakeholders and resolving issues
  • Understanding of data preparation, data quality, governance and metadata frameworks
  • Solid understanding of RDMS, OLAP and Integrations. Understanding of data warehouse and data mart concepts
  • Experience with process modelling
  • Experience with hands-on report development
  • Professional experience working with enterprise analytic data mart
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience working with agile teams and familiarity with agile best practices
  • Working knowledge of Web technologies
  • Experience with OBIEE, Salesforce, Jira
  • Experience with Vertex Tax Software
  • Experience with Oracle APEX Reporting
