What you’ll be working on

In this role you will perform studies, experiments, and assessments of kinematics and kinetics across sport, exercise, and injury to understand movement mechanics of the body to influence product development. 

Your day-to-day

  • Designs and leads complex biomechanical studies of kinematics and kinetics across sport, exercise and injury. Analyze and interpret data to derive actionable insights.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring they align with strategic goals and contribute new knowledge or products.
  • Leads collaborative efforts with other departments, ensuring Human Performance & Health perspectives are integrated into product development and research initiatives.
  • Develops and implements data management protocols including the ORB Innovations database.
  • Ensures data security and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Mentors and trains staff in data analysis techniques.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at the direction of management.

You should apply if

  • You have a Master’s degree in Sports & Exercise Science, Sports Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required.
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of experience within applied Biomechanics research.
  • You are proficient in at least one programming language. 
  • You are proficient in application of advanced statistical methods including regression, ANOVA, and repeated measures analysis, including working with large data sets.
  • You are proficient in signal processing techniques, such as Fourier transforms, filtering, and feature extraction.
  • You have the ability to assess data critically, challenge assumptions, and propose evidence-based solutions for performance and health improvements.

Even better if you have

  • Experience conducting research on injury mechanics, impact mechanics, or a related field.
  • Published research in the form of an abstract or paper in a leading peer reviewed journal.
  • Evidence of a commitment to professional development through additional certification, applied research, or volunteer activities (e.g., Strength & Conditioning qualifications, research project or publications, roles with academy or professional teams).

THE INTERVIEW PROCESS


Our process involves three stages:

  1. Resume Review & Short List.
  2. Initial Call (Depending on the role, a take home task may also be requested).
  3. Final Interview.

Our average process takes approximately 2-3 weeks, but we always work around your availability.
