Position overview: 
 
The Transportation Analyst will partner closely with our Transportation Leadership and Operations teams to further accelerate our growth and profitability around transportation.  
You will be responsible for investigating and settling freight claims in accordance with carrier liability rules, regulations and contracts. You will manage, monitor, and scrutinize carrier financials and performance.   The Analyst position is a highly visible role in the organization, building relationships with Operations teams as well as Finance, Supply Chain, and Business Intelligence.  
 
 
Main responsibilities: 
 
  • Manage the freight claims process; communicating across functional areas and outside partners. Follow up and document claims within TMS.
  • Track damaged product and work with insurance companies and adjusters
  • Actively monitor and react to transportation related issues/opportunities for assigned carriers and update in TMS.
  • Identify trends from errors and report to Transportation Manager so that future errors are avoided.
  • Manage weekly reconciliation of carrier invoices, including FedEx, UPS, LTL and others
  • Partner with accounting to record monthly transportation accruals
  • Analyze transportation spend and profitability and provide insights to the business on where we can improve.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, or schedule form.
  • May be required to be on call and work as part of a weekend rotation.
  • Support tracking/tracing/visibility to freight processes
 
 
Skills and Qualifications: 
 
  • Demonstrated competency in MS Office applications. Advanced Excel knowledge preferred
  • Fluent English Speaker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 1-3 year of professional freight/insurance claims experience, administrative experience; trucking, freight brokerage or logistics experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent in Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Experience working in a transportation management system (TMS) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to work within a team structure.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Independent Worker.
