Distribution provides integrated supply chain solutions and engineering support focused on delivering fasteners, components, industrial and safety supplies to our diverse customers around the world.
Manufacturing provides engineered fastener solutions to automotive and industrial companies. Customers include ABB, Cummins, Harley Davidson, La-Z-Boy, Paccar, Rivian, Schneider, and Tesla.
Position overview:
The Director of Materials is responsible for Customer Service, Inventory Planning and Management, Production Scheduling, Supply Chain, and Warehousing. The position has four direct reports: Inside Sales Manager, Purchasing Manager, Warehouse Manager, Production Scheduler, and Materials Administrator.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Development of an effective team through provision of training, facilitation of problem solving, system performance management, and individual performance management.
- Development of systems set forth through standard work and sustained by adherence to metrics and regular process audits.
- Development of workflow automation (e.g. dashboards, reports, poka-yokes, and exception alerts) that enables team to focus on value added activities.
- Establishment of operating plans and metrics which support organizational objectives in the following areas:
- Customer On Time Delivery
- Sort Quality
- Ship Quality
- Supplier On Time Delivery
- Supplier Quality
- Supply Chain Cost
- Production Downtime due to Scheduling and Supply Chain disruptions
- Adherence to Budget
- Development of collaborative work relationships across functions and divisions.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Support quote activities as pertains to special supply chain, packaging, inventory, and shipping requirements.
- Support onboarding of new customers.
Key Competencies:
The ideal candidate must have the following competencies:
- Advanced MRP knowledge.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
- Ability to develop dashboards and reports.

Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience with Inventory Planning and Management and Production Scheduling
- Minimum 10 years of experience with Supply Chain and Warehousing.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience with Customer Service.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with modern ERP software.
Education:
- BA in Operations, Supply Chain, or comparable field.
- MBA preferred.
