Position overview:
The manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the engineering program at Optimas Manufacturing from applications engineering through product approval and product improvement..  
 
Main responsibilities:
  • Development and management of engineering processes 
  • Development and management of engineering standards (e.g. machine, product, and process) 
  • Support applications engineering efforts, including customer interaction 
  • Product quoting 
  • Product development, including development of APQP materials. 
  • Product design  
  • Product improvement  
  • Adherence to IATF-16949 engineering requirements 
  • Adherence to product design and performance related regulatory requirements.   
  • Support Internal Audits, Control LPA and Product Audits. 
  • Support QMS management system 
  • Support and management to all company procedures and policies.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or industrial engineering. 
  • Minimum 15 years engineering experience. 
  • Minium 10 years engineering experience within a manufacturing environment 
  • Minimum 5 years product development experience 
  • Minimum 5 years management experience 
  • Minimum 5 years automotive experience 
  • Familiarity with fastener and joint design   
  • GD&T, print review, understanding and interpretation of engineering specifications (IFI, ASME, etc).   
  • Good working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA) 
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial management
