Supply Chain ESG Coordinator
Support Optimas’ global response to environmental regulations and customer sustainability requirements by managing supply chain ESG data, coordinating supplier disclosures and supporting robust data controls. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, you will play a key role in delivering Optimas’ supply chain sustainability and responsible procurement programme across our global fastener manufacturing and distribution network.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Monitor and track ESG regulatory developments relevant to the business (e.g. EU CBAM, EU ETS, UK SECR, conflict minerals).
- Support data collection and documentation required for regulatory reporting, including CBAM-related supplier data.
- Maintain a compliance and disclosure calendar to ensure timely submissions.
Supply Chain Carbon & ESG Data Management
- Coordinate collection, validation and maintenance of supplier ESG and carbon data (e.g. material weights, emission factors, transport modes).
- Support calculation and maintenance of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions data in line with the GHG Protocol.
- Maintain structured databases for product-level and logistics carbon information.
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve missing or inconsistent ESG data.
Sustainable Procurement Support
- Assist sourcing teams with ESG data requests during supplier onboarding and reviews.
- Support tracking of supplier ESG performance and improvement initiatives.
- Help prepare internal KPI dashboards for supply chain sustainability performance.
Reporting & Customer Data Requests
- Prepare accurate and audit-ready ESG data for customer questionnaires and industry platforms (e.g. CDP, EcoVadis, Assent, M2030).
- Collaborate with Sales and Key Account teams to respond to customer sustainability requests.
- Maintain documented processes and evidence packs to support customer audits and assurance reviews.
Controls & Documentation
- Maintain process documentation for ESG data collection, validation and retention.
- Support continuous improvement of ESG data quality and internal controls.
- Contribute to training materials and internal awareness sessions where required.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience in ESG, energy, or carbon accounting and reporting (or similar data-focused analytical experience)
- Working knowledge of carbon accounting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol Standard) and supply chain emissions.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting indices (e.g. Ecovadis and CDP) and standards such as e.g. GRI, SASB desirable.
- Experience handling large and imperfect data sets, ideally in manufacturing or multi-site environments.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with reporting tools advantageous.
- Highly organised with strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear communicator comfortable working across global teams and supplier networks.
