Position overview:

 

Optimas is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Onsite Envoy to work at our customer location – JCB in Rocester - Staffordshire. As an Optimas envoy you are managing a team who collectively and individually are directly responsible for the ‘day to day’ management of the onsite JIT systems for our clients.

 

This is a customer facing role so you must remember that you are a representation of Optimas as a business and our professional image must be always maintained to the highest possible standards.

 

The role primarily is to support the client with the aid of the on-site team. Which includes maintaining a presence in production meetings, investigating & supplying relevant information to the client at multiple levels, managing the on-site team and their day to day routines, managing the ordering and replenishment of parts through the clients businesses and maintaining the standards of the JIT racks for all areas.

In addition, maintaining this client the on-site team look after two additional clients as well.

 

 

Principle Activities:

 

          Understand, develop and promote the Company’s business objectives and participate with total enthusiasm and commitment to achieve and exceed them.

          Ensure regular status reviews are undertaken with the Line Management and relevant Company personnel.

          Agree with Line Management appropriate measures (Key Performance Indicators) to monitor performance to achieve the Company’s objectives, ensure that they are kept up-to date and displayed prominently.

          Ensure that you fully understand your work requirements and duties and have received the correct supervised training in accordance with the Company’s training requirements to enable you to undertake your duties.

 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities are defined as:

 

          You will be required to attend the client’s production meetings if and when required, possibly on a daily basis.

 

          Investigating and supplying information to the client and Optimas teams. Information required is quite a broad range from a part query or part line count, to assisting in an engineering investigation and reports.

 

          All racks and cabinets to be kept in the agreed location and ensure that there is no movement into areas obstructing through ways etc which could raise health and safety issues.

 

          Managing the introduction and maintaining the JIT parts required in each area of the client’s business. Adding and removing these as and when a new production model is introduced or come to the end of its production run (Multiple areas).

 

          Maintaining communication with regards to any and all new Optimas JIT parts required into the client’s business, either as stock for production or as samples.

 

          Managing any paperwork which is required to be sent back to the warehouse.

 

          Managing the successful and prompt return of any parts sent back to the warehouse under a return’s authorization.

 

          Managing the on-site team. This includes the team’s daily routines, shift patterns, absence, and holidays.

 

The onsite team’s routines include:-

 

          The morning shifts daily production line replenishment and scan (multiple area).

 

          The morning shifts daily delivery replenishment to the main rack and directly to some production areas.

 

          The morning shifts maintaining additional client’s sites (x2, once a week).

 

          The evening shifts daily production line replenishment.

 

          The whole team is required to maintain clearly and neatly labelled racks as well as ensuring that the correct size bar code labels are used. Any required rack or bin labels can be printed on site.

 

          The whole team to maintain the area around the racks which need to be always clean and tidy, as well as removing any stock not in the designated containers and sweep up any spillages.

 

          The whole team to provide assistance with a broad range of enquires. These can range from simply finding a part through to investigating a part point of fit issue.

 

 

Key Skills and Competences required:

 

          Strong customer service skills

          Results-focused

          Excellent communication skills

          A flexible, friendly approach with a team focus and can-do attitude

          Decision Making and problem solving skills

          Driver CPC

          Manual Handling – regularly lifting up to 20kg

          Fork Lift License / Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) training preferred

 

The hours required is to primarily cover the morning production shift

0730  1630, Monday – Friday.

In addition you may be required to work the odd Saturday and covering the evening shifts if and when the business requires it.

 

You must wear work wear suited to the working environment whilst carrying out your role.

 

On this site we follow the client’s dress code which is black shirt/polo shirt and black trousers and safety shoes please speak to your direct Optimas manager should you require any of this.

A high Vis jacket will be provided for you for the designated areas of our client’s site.
