Title: Senior Credit Risk Analyst                     
Department: Risk Management
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes credit risk exposure related to loan activities 
  • Assists in conducting analysis to mitigate credit risk, create and monitor credit policy, measure credit execution and credit structure 
  • Monitors credit performance by various dimensions 
  • Utilizes data mining and advanced spreadsheet skills to quantify credit risk related to loan activities 
  • Employs best practices of data analysis and validation to ensure data results are accurate 
  • Assists in the creation, maintenance and monitoring of origination credit policies, procedures, and lending stipulations 
  • Understands how changes to origination credit policy and lending environment can impact loan volume as well as overall credit performance 
  • Proactively monitors and reports relevant changes in origination trends to management 
  • Conducts ad hoc research projects incorporating project design, data collection and analysis, summarization of findings, and presentation of results 
  • Effectively summarizes and communicates origination trends, credit execution, and credit performance to management 

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 
  • Expert with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
  • Experience with respect to data analysis and spreadsheet modeling and/or reporting 
  • Experience with coding (SAS, SQL, R or Python preferred) for data mining and analysis 
  • Querying skills and knowledge in a data warehouse environment 
  • Demonstrated quantitative skills 
  • Acute attention to detail 
  • Effective written and verbal presentation skills 
  • Ability to interact collaboratively and proactively with internal customers 
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, including ability to coordinate and balance numerous tasks in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, meeting deadlines 
  • Understanding of the metrics utilized in monitoring the loan origination process in a consumer lending portfolio 
 
Education/Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree ​Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, MIS, or other quantitative field required 
  • Master’s Degree ​Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, MIS, or other quantitative field preferred 
  • 4 or more years of experience working with complex Excel workbooks, querying large multi-table datasets, and data presentation; ability to demonstrate proficiency with the following tools: SAS, SQL, R and/or Python, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required. Experience in consumer loan originations and analysis is preferred.

  • Limited travel may be required to support business needs 
  • Must be able to deal with stressful office conditions while troubleshooting problems
