Role Summary

As a Principal Data Science Engineer , you will provide critical solution development across a broad portfolio of data-driven products. You retain a combination of functional knowledge and execution skills in leveraging SQL, Python, R, dbt, AirFlow, Spark, Glue, and other AWS stack products. We prefer candidates with network telemetry acumen.
Additionally, you have strong critical thinking and analytical skills with a proven track record in executing solutions from planning to delivery. You understand agile methodologies and are committed to the continuous improvement of your solutions.
As a member of the Data Science team, you will work to build scalable, automated products for our global clients using fixed and mobile data sets and models.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform duties related to business analysis, such as scoping, documentation, project management, and related activities
  • Work closely with Data Scientists to turn methodology into scalable, viable products
  • Work closely with Data Engineering to maintain project success and deliverables

Qualifications
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline).
  • 8+ years of experience in a data analyst, developer, architect, or similar position
  • Strong understanding of programming concepts with experience in at least 1 OOP language (Python, Scala, Java)
  • Strong background and 3+ years of direct experience working with Python
  • Experience with high volume distributed data processing in Spark
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, databases (MySQL / Redshift / Athena / Trino), data modeling, and modern data warehouse (lakehouse) management
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills
  • Excited to learn and work with new technologies in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills both in person and via virtual mediums
  • Strong time management skills and a self driven work ethic
  • Experience with AWS cloud services is a plus
  • Experience with event driven architecture and streaming data pipelines is a plus
  • Background check required
