Quality Engineer- Security

Ontario Systems has a new and exciting Quality Engineer - Security position in our R&D Department.

Location This position may be remote. Candidate may work where they live anywhere in the United States. This position may also work from one of our office locations in Muncie, Indiana or Vancouver, Washington.

Visa sponsorship or transfer of an existing visa is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform static/dynamic automated and manual code inspection, penetration testing, and threat modeling.
  • Create/assist with implementing repeatable automated/manual security testing solutions.
  • Evaluate and determine the security testing methodologies and scenarios to apply to a project, task, or application.
  • Analyze results of testing by comparing with predicted outcomes and provide improvements.
  • Analyze defect trends, quality indicators, and perform root cause analysis on test failures.
  • Gather, provide, and implement test plans and designs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to others on secure software development and design principles.
  • Work with cross functional teams, including quality, engineering, release, operations, product, etc. to understand product architecture, infrastructure, and security testing requirements.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Security-related field (or combination of experience and education).
  • Experience with security testing tools, strategies, execution.
  • Advanced understanding of coding concepts such as identity and access management technologies, application architecture, and client and server APIs.
  • Skillset/Technologies:
    • At least 5 years of experience working within a software development team.
    • Experience with security testing and automated test management tools (e.g. OWASP Zap, Zed Attack proxy, Nessus, Veracode, SonarCube, etc.).
    • Experience with database security (at least one): InterSystems Cache/Globals/Ensemble, any form of SQL, any form of No SQL.
    • Advanced knowledge of virtualization, servers, integrated products, networks, AWS, or Azure and how to test within these environments.
    • Understanding of application, infrastructure, and network security testing for SaaS, on-premise, and microservice environments.
  • The ability to excel in a highly collaborative, Agile, and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards, HIPAA standards, NIST Framework, and privacy best practices.
  • Good communication, analytical skills, and systems thinking perspective to support investigation of issues in complex product scenarios.
