HR Generalist

Talent (HR) Muncie, Indiana


Ontario Systems has a new and exciting position as HR Generalist in our Talent Department reporting to the Director of Total Rewards and Talent Operations.

Location This position will work from our Muncie, Indiana, location, which is near Ball State University and within easy commuting distance from Indianapolis. This role is a hybrid remote role with flexibility to work from home and the office as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Participate in the implementation and administration of employment compliance programs and policies that meet legislative regulation and contractual obligations.
  • Provide reporting to internal stakeholders as required. Also serve as point of contact for internal managers and staff concerning employment compliance programs.
  • Act as liaison to clients for reporting requests and other needs.
  • Participate in and conduct internal HR compliance audits.
  • Provide support for our internal clients, our employees, by guiding them, giving them direction to resources, and answering all inquiries which may include clarification of policies, programs, paid time off, and Ontario Systems’ employee handbook.
  • Execute and facilitate day-to-day Human Resources responsibilities:
    • Be proactively engaged in a variety of key HR projects and implementations
    • Maintain personnel records, both electronic, hard copy and soft
    • Track Tuition Reimbursement submissions
  • Coordinate onboarding in the following areas:
    • Create new employee record in HCM system (ADP)
    • Manage I-9 and e-Verify
    • Add new hires into New Hire Yammer Channel
    • Conduct benefit overview sessions during new hire orientation
    • Track/assign required security training for new hire orientation
    • Maintain new hire touchpoint survey and disseminate results
  • Coordinate offboarding/crossboarding in the following areas:
    • Prepare documentation of final employment letter and material
    • Inform all departments of changes as needed through Service Ticket submissions
    • Process separations/transfers in HR tech stack and HCM system
    • Maintain exit interview survey and disseminate results
    • Manage final pay and benefit information
    • Prepares employee documentation for transfers, transitions, promotions, and other employment changes
  • Benefit Administration responsibilities:
    • Respond to and monitor qualifying life events and enrollments
    • Assist with Annual Open Enrollment
    • Manage Total Rewards wellness program and quarterly newsletter
    • Responsible for the maintenance of Total Rewards SharePoint pages
    • Assist in benefit renewal meeting with broker
    • Audit and approve carrier invoices including self-billed
    • Maintain and update records for COBRA notifications and elections.

What You’ll Need
  • 3+ years working in an HR support role (experience working in a software company is a plus!)
  • Positive attitude and energetic demeanor with a roll-up your sleeves mentality
  • Progressive administrative competence and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a fluid set of tasks and deliverables in a fast moving, complex environment
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Must be able to work out of the Muncie, IN office approximately 2 days per week
  • Experience with ADP a plus!
