Staff Accountant

Ontario Systems has a new and exciting position as Staff Accountant in our Finance Department. This position will report to the Senior Accountant.

Location: This position will be remote. Candidate may work where they live anywhere in the United States. This position could also work from one of our office locations in Burlington, MA or Muncie, IN.

Visa sponsorship or transfer of an existing visa is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently manage the month-end close process including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and variance expense analysis while ensuring accuracy and adherence to US GAAP
  • Perform accrual analysis of key balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries
  • Manage fixed asset additions and disposals and associated entries.
  • Assist with merger and acquisition efforts as needed.
  • Perform review of bimonthly payroll for completeness and accuracy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement and solve problems.
  • Contribute to successful year-end financial audit.
  • Assist outside auditors with preparation of property tax returns.
  • Perform other projects and assignments as assigned.

  • Clear history showing accountability to meet established goals.
  • Self-starter with a proven track record showing organization and attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player with positive attitude.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Must have intellectual curiosity, resiliency, and adaptability.
  • Minimum 2 years of corporate accounting related experience.
  • Audit/Assurance experience and/or CPA preferred.
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
