Ontario Systems has a new and exciting position as Manager, Quality Assurance in its R&D Department.

Location This position will work from one of our office locations in Muncie, IN, Vancouver, WA, or Albuquerque, NM. We will also consider remote work arrangements for this position.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a results-oriented QA Team
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology, quality, operational efficiency and instill the principles of this culture in the team.
  • Organize, mentors, and motivates a team of talented QA professionals.
  • Manage all aspects of the team’s development activities in dynamic Scrum environment and champions the application of QA principles through the software development life cycle.
  • Assist with developing and managing testing strategies, plans, scripts, user acceptance testing, performance testing, system testing, and automated regression testing.
  • Ensure teams have appropriate product storyboards in place bridging the gap between product roadmap and current detailed sprint planning and execution to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic.
  • Maintain metrics on estimated/timelines to ensure projects remain on target.
  • Assist the team in resolving issues daily.
  • Communicate OKRs and KPIs and assist with creating SMART goals and individual development plans with momentum metrics to ensure progress.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and collaborative skills to make an immediate impact.
  • Hire and retain top talent needed to meet objectives.
  • Monitor performance and maintaining knowledge of best practices
  • Analyze and benchmark processes, establish QA effectiveness metrics, and understand the interaction and relationship of business operations and strategic objectives.
  • Identify measures to track product quality.
  • Working with other internal teams, seek opportunities for continuous improvement of quality through Six Sigma and/or other continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and understanding of the latest development and quality methodologies and best practices.
  •  Serve as a contact point with outside organizations, such as the American Society for Quality, Quality Assurance Institute, American National Standards Institute, the International Organization for Standardization, the Scrum Alliance.
  • Determine government compliance requirements or other regulatory requirements, if any, and incorporate into company’s QC programs.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business Systems, Software Engineering or Computer Science from four-year college or university; four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree is desirable.
  • Four or more years of technical leadership experience in software engineering, telephony, quality.
  • Experience in leading a technology quality function within a software development environment is preferred.
  • Proven experience managing software quality projects.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the following areas is required:
    • Development techniques for improving quality
    • QA Automation frameworks and testing tools
    • Expertise in software design and implementation
    • People development and coaching skills
