Description

Ontario systems is looking to expand our team of Data Engineers to help develop cutting edge financial analytic pipelines and workflows. The role is primarily in backend technologies, with a small blend of data science and full stack development.

Location This position will be remote. Candidate may work where they live anywhere in the United States.

Visa sponsorship or transfer of an existing visa is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer.

What You’ll Need

  • BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Able to effectively self-manage and communicate anticipated timelines.
  • Ability to work closely with other engineers and data scientists daily to coordinate efforts.
  • Able to work with evolving requirements in an agile engineering environment.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Experience in building backend applications.
  • Practical experience with Python, Postgres, Celery, Pandas/Dask, Flask, and Jupyter.
  • Git or a comparable code management system.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS or a comparable cloud service provider.

Experience Preferred, Not Required

  • OpenAPI standards and specifications.
  • Typescript, React, and other frontend-centric technologies.
  • Helm/Terraform
  • Github Workflows
  • Kubernetes/EKS (a deeper understanding than what is implied in the “Basic AWS knowledge”)
