Description

Ontario Systems has a new and exciting position as Security Analyst in our Legal & Compliance Department. This person is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of securing the company’s information networks and systems.

Location This position will be remote. Candidate may work where they live anywhere in the United States.

Visa sponsorship or transfer of an existing visa is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure security controls are effective and meet the needs of our security program by:
    • Proactively monitoring the environments to detect and remediate security events 
    • Reviewing, investigating, and responding to real-time alerts within the environment 
    • Reviewing real-time and historical reports for security and compliance violations 
    • Ensuring confidentiality of data by investigating and reporting improper access 
    • Conducting vulnerability assessments of internal and hosted systems 
    • Identifying system vulnerabilities and provide remediation guidance. 
    • Managing and supporting the central event logging systems 
  • Participate as member of Incident Response team.  
    • Lead and/or assist internal teams in the analysis of security events 
    • Communicate incident updates to internal team members as appropriate 
  • Remain informed of new developments and information security trends.  
  • Monitor, research, evaluate, and report on new and emerging security threats as appropriate to the organization.
  • Make recommendations to the Director, Corporate Security, on desirable and beneficial additions and developments to the security program.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding security-related concepts to internal teams.  
  • Work with other departments to advise on new and existing security threats and mitigation controls.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Two+ years of Security Operations or Security Analyst experience 
  • One or more security-related certifications (Security+, CEH, SSCP) with a desire to achieve more 
  • Familiarity with security software products and audit tools (Nessus, Tenable, Alien Vault, Alert Logic) 
  • Thorough understanding of information security concepts, protocols, “industry best practices" and strategies 
  • Skills such as threat hunting, threat intelligence, and data analytics 
  • Knowledge of Internet security and network security technologies (TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS, Anti-Virus products, etc.)  
  • Experience with securing on-premise and cloud (Azure, AWS, O365) infrastructure 
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards that apply to personal and confidential information (HIPAA, FISMA, PCI-DSS, GLBA, etc) 
  • Fluency in writing reports understandable by technical and non-technical associates 
  • Understanding of application and database security recommended, but not required 
  • Knowledge of business software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
