The Business Analyst will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs to define and document complex system requirements. This role requires strong expertise in Agile methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and system documentation, along with experience supporting regulatory and government programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with the Texas Automated Nutrition System (TANS) and familiarity with federal child nutrition program requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs to define complex system requirements
- Develop and maintain detailed system documentation to support design, development, and quality standards
- Create and execute test plans; coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Analyze program policies and procedures to assess impact on system functionality
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams throughout the SDLC
- Support system design, configuration, testing, and implementation activities
- Reengineer business processes and identify opportunities for technology improvements
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders
- Facilitate the service request lifecycle, including requirements gathering and validation
- Review technical specifications and ensure alignment with business requirements
- Monitor system integration and ensure readiness prior to implementation
- Work independently and collaboratively with TDA staff on complex assignments
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role
- 5+ years of experience with Agile methodologies and user story analysis
- Strong experience serving as a liaison between business and IT teams
- 1+ year of experience with Texas Automated Nutrition System (TANS)
- 1+ year of experience writing system requirements aligned with federal child nutrition programs
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication
- Experience with SDLC, testing processes, and system implementation
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in government or public sector environments
- Familiarity with compliance-driven systems and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Eligibility:
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Must be able to work onsite in Austin, TX (3 days/week required)
