NELCO Worldwide is seeking a Human Resource Manager to join a dynamic team in a key leadership position at a 90-year-old multi-faceted organization with services, manufacturing, and construction businesses. The company operates from multiple locations across the U.S. serving both domestic and international markets. We seek a Human Resources Manager that can preserve and enhance our critical and vibrant company culture to help innovate and guide our valued employees towards continued success and growth. The Human Resources Manager will play a key role in both shaping strategy and executing day-to-day HR operations that strengthen engagement, culture, and performance across the organization. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a trusted partner to both leadership and staff. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing strategy and rolling up their sleeves to manage the full employee life cycle—from onboarding and benefits administration to employee relations and compliance.

 

Human Resources Manager Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ experience as an HR Generalist with demonstrated depth of knowledge in all technical and operational areas of HR.
  • Strong working knowledge of benefits administration, leave management, and employee relations best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and consultative skills.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated success influencing and coaching employees and leaders toward collaborative, win-win outcomes.
  • A passion for the company’s mission balanced with a focus on the well-being and development of all employees.
  • A mentor and leader who models professionalism and promotes a positive, inclusive culture.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.

Human Resources Manager Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the HR strategy in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring alignment with business goals and workforce planning needs.
  • Serve as a hands-on HR partner responsible for administering employee benefits, processing leave requests (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and supporting payroll coordination.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, including offer letters, benefits enrollment, employee orientations, exit interviews, and related documentation.
  • Act as a primary resource for employee relations by providing guidance, investigating concerns, and fostering a positive, solutions-oriented workplace culture.
  • Lead employee engagement and culture initiatives that promote inclusion, retention, and professional growth.
  • Oversee governance of HR policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and oversee compensation programs, including job evaluation, pay range development, and market-based salary benchmarking.
  • Manage performance management, talent development, and recognition programs to support growth and accountability across all levels of the organization.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics (turnover, retention, engagement, etc.) to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Support leadership with organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Lead or participate in special HR projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
  • Coordinate, develop, update new and enhanced training programs working with cross functional management teams.
