Job Description:

Omitron is seeking candidates for a position in Radio Frequency (RF) analysis related to operations of satellites. The analyst provides Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and related phenomenology assessments for space-based and ground-based systems. Responsible for employing provided software to produce and deliver assessments of RF environment effects on operations and to predict and troubleshoot RFI-related events. Additionally, the analyst coordinates and integrates relevant information and findings across multiple functional areas to develop and deliver products enabling customer situational awareness and decisions. Potential for broadening into other areas related to directed electromagnetic energy technical analysis and orbit analysis. Occasional work outside of normal duty hours.

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to use STK (AGI) for orbital analysis and visualizations
  • Ability to create short programs in Perl or other scripting languages to automate data processing.
  • Familiarity with Matlab and Fortran desirable.
  • Ability to apply RF, antenna, and link engineering solutions to real world problems involving ground-based systems and satellites 
  • Ability to apply orbital mechanics to real world problems. General understanding of methods of orbit determination and prediction, and use of orbital state data
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to multi-task, and be capable of applying innovative analysis in a dynamic work environments to solve customer problems.


Required Experience:

Four or more years of space-related experience involving engineering of antennas, communications, radar, electronic warfare or related fields or phenomena. Space Operations / Orbit Analysis experience.  Real-time problem solving of technical and operational problems in an ambiguous problems is required for this position.


Required Degree:

Masters degree in one or more of the following: Aerospace or Astronautical Engineering, Space Operations, Physics.

Ft. Belvoir, VA area


Security Clearance and Other Requirements:

A Top Secret/SCI clearance required; current polygraph a plus.
