Job Overview


Omitron, Inc. currently has an opportunity for a professional and experienced individual to fill the role of Jr. Systems Administrator.  Candidate would be the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance for computer and software related issues via phone, email, or in person.  The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and technical skills who can prioritize tasks in an evolving and demanding environment.  The position is based in our Colorado Springs, CO office with primary support being users working out of that office.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provide complete IT support for issues encountered by local staff – including but not limited to VoIP phone system, laptops, desktops, servers, networking, printers, TVs, projectors and related peripherals
  • Take ownership and monitor support requests to ensure a timely resolution
  • Track events, problems and their resolution in ticketing system
  • Provide proper escalation to senior team members when necessary
  • Ensure company owned equipment, peripherals, and software are properly maintained and in compliance with all security requirements and licensing entities
  • Perform light administration of Active Directory and Exchange such as user account creation, modification and termination
  • Receive, inspect, log and distribute new hardware and RMA or dispose of defective hardware
  • Track local hardware and software assets in an inventory system
  • Assist Senior Systems Administrators and Systems Engineers on project assignments
  • Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures




  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology or related field
  • Security + Certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years prior IT Support experience
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • The ability to prioritize, be attentive to details, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional client service is required. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem solving and computer skills required.
  • Must be a team player and be willing to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to lift 60 pounds (monitors, computers, printers, servers)
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include overtime and/or weekends/holidays


US Citizenship required and eligibility to obtain a Secret Security Clearance



  • The desire and ability to grow and improve technical skills on a daily basis
  • Tech Savvy with a good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Experience with networking appliances and technologies such as switches and Wi-Fi
  • Experience with Audio/Video equipment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work on several tasks at once with frequent interruptions while meeting sensitive deadlines
  • Extremely detail-oriented, trust-worthy, and reliable
  • A sense of urgency and a commitment to timely completion of projects. Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality.
