Job Description:

Omitron is seeking candidates for a Radio Frequency (RF) safety analyst to analyze RF emissions in relation to the operational safety of satellites. The analyst uses provided software to predict and assess RF interference and related phenomenology.  Uses knowledge of RF electromagnetic energy physics, orbital mechanics and space operations to coordinate and integrate relevant information and findings across multiple functional areas to develop and deliver products enabling customer situational awareness and decisions. Potential for broadening into other areas related to directed electromagnetic energy technical analysis and orbit analysis. Occasional work outside of normal duty hours.

This position requires a TS/SCI with Poly clearance. 

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to use STK (AGI) for orbital analysis and visualizations
  • Ability to create short programs in Perl or other scripting languages to automate data processing.
  • Familiarity with Matlab and Fortran desirable.
  • Ability to apply RF, antenna, and link engineering solutions to real world problems involving ground-based systems and satellites
  • Ability to apply orbital mechanics to real world problems. General understanding of methods of orbit determination and prediction, and use of orbital state data
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to multi-task, and be capable of applying innovative analysis in a dynamic work environment to solve customer problems.

 

Required Experience:

Two or more years of space operations or related experience involving engineering of antennas, communications, radar, electronic warfare or related fields or phenomena. Space Operations / Orbit Analysis experience.  Real-time problem solving of technical and operational problems in an ambiguous problems is required for this position.

 

Required Degree:

Bachelor’s degree in one or more of the following: Aerospace or Astronautical Engineering, Space Operations, Physics.

 

Job Location:

Ft. Belvoir, VA area

 

Security Clearance Requirements:

A Top Secret/SCI clearance with current polygraph required
