Skilled-level Body technician able to perform Collision repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair. Repair damage to vehicles as necessary and within the guidelines established at the time of repair approval. Look for and report any and all hidden damage observed during the repair process.

Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer. Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.

Road test vehicles when required. Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events. Attain industry certifications as required. Keep abreast of manufacturer updates and technical bulletins. Report machinery and equipment defects and malfunctions to department management.

Keep the shop area neat and clean. Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and equipment including returning to proper storage location when done.

Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as EPA, OSHA, and DOT. Work in a safe manner at all times. Report any safety issues to management immediately.


Self-motivated and detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills. Must be able to provide excellent customer service.


Two years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience) is required. Vocational/technical school preferred. Certification of completion of a technical school specializing in the repair/refinish of all series of trucks and trailers preferred. Working knowledge of tools of the trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required.



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
