JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
This position will be required to transport, deliver, and pick up rental products and machinery via a company-owned tractor-trailer or Rollback truck. Operation of the equipment being hauled will be required to load/unload the truck or trailer. Occasional loads will have OVERSIZED dimensions or weights and require special permits and hauling instructions/requirements. Deliveries and pickups will be in the following states: OH, PA, WV, MI, KY, and IND.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
A clean (less than 4 points) driving record with a Class “A” CDL license and a current Medical Certification Card (acquired by the time of appointment) is required.
A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Prior truck-trailer combination driving experience and in-depth understanding of special restrictions/laws/regulations of the transportation industry are required.
Experience in the safe operation of 7 axle set-up and oversized loads required.
Attention to detail, quick reaction times, and situational awareness while driving and operating equipment are required.
Ability to maintain a professional image and behavior. Ability to provide superior customer service.
Knowledge of the electronic logbook is required. General knowledge of construction equipment, maintenance, and its operation is desired.
Desire to approach learning and training as an ongoing, career-long process. Knowledge and constant practice of safe work habits.
High level of composure and good stress management.
Machine knowledge and securing loads recommended
Physically and mentally fit
Ability to lift 50lbs at a time
Able to operate electric lifts, hand trucks
Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems
An innate sense of direction
Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines.
Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
