This position is responsible for the development and underwriting of a profitable portfolio of Financial
Institutions/Fintech business. Underwriters analyze the expected profitability of each risk in the
portfolio, are strongly involved in marketing and business development activities and maintain strong
broker and client relationships. In addition, underwriters are expected to monitor insurance markets,
pricing and trends.
•Underwriting evaluation for new and renewal Financial Institutions/Fintech business in accordance
with underwriting authority
•Analyzing submission material including requesting and researching additional information to achieve
sound understanding of the risk being presented
•Participating in conference calls with brokers and clients to gain a better understanding of risk profiles
•Pricing risk based on Hudson pricing tools and other underwriting factors specific to the risk, terms and
structure of the placement
•Negotiating pricing, terms and participation to maximize profitability for Hudson
•Ensuring the maintenance of files and records, underwriting authority and peer review is carried out in
accordance with internal procedures
•Generating new business inquiries and develop existing business relationships through marketing and
communication with brokers
•Participating in industry functions and events to further build the HudsonPro brand identity and
•Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of FI underwriting experience in the insurance industry
•Knowledge of various lines of business including D&O, E&O, Fiduciary, and Employment Practices

The pay range for the role is $120,000 to $200,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. In addition, Hudson/Odyssey offers a comprehensive benefits package.
