The IT Generalist represents an opportunity for an IT professional to function as both an internal and external consultant while being part of a greater team (having all the benefits as an associate of Oakwood); provide impactful solutions for quality user experiences and manages software investments through their lifecycle - across a broad spectrum of technologies. The incumbent will build the next generation of software solutions and enterprise applications. This role consults with clients in support of a rapidly changing technology environment, providing impactful solutions for high quality user experiences and manages software investments across their lifecycle, working across a broad spectrum of technologies. The incumbent will support and/or build the next generation of software solutions and enterprise applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An Oakwood the Information Technology Generalist….

  • Determines system requirements through collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Enables and empowers development of solutions tailored to the business need and required capabilities
  • Creates current and future state system design diagrams
  • Codes and performs unit and integration testing of software; ensures proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements
  • Designs and writes programs according to functional and non-functional requirements
  • Tests and debugs new software; makes enhancements to existing software
  • Supports code review sessions to validate adherence with development standards
  • Reviews and provides input into development standards
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation
  • Collaborates with customers, technical, and architecture teams to solve complex software problems
  • Provides introductory training of new technologies, technical guidance, and code reviews

SKILLS, ABILITIES, and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED for SUCCESS
  • 3+ years of solid experience with the C# .NET platform
  • Programming experience with .Net websites, applications, and integration
  • Working knowledge of Web Services, REST, JQuery, SOAP, JSON Thorough unit testing and integration testing practicesPossess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 3+ years of progressive experience in web/application development and/or evidence of exceptional ability
